Returning to Reunion

I have decided to rework a game I made last year called Reunion. It was a short horror game based around the idea of a 10 year high school reunion where things begin to get spooky and weird. I have joined a jam here on itch that inspired me to rework this game, although I have previously thought on my own about working on it again. As an indie game developer, it is often frustrating to release a game that you know does not really have the feel or gameplay mechanics that you intended. You always have to cut corners for time limitations, and just to get the game finished and done. I liked the mood I was able to create with the original version, but there is alot more polish I can give it. I enjoyed making original music for the game using LMMS, a free DAW (digital audio workshop.) Since creating this game, I have worked on several other projects and have learned more efficient ways of structuring code, so I would like to apply those skills to reinforce them and improve this game's performance. I would like to create new character models and just improve the flow of the gameplay, possibly extending the game's time to complete if I have enough time as well. This will be my first remake and I think it could prove rewarding since many of the ideas and game mechanics have been previously worked out, so it may be interesting to see how far I can push the ideas and gameplay. Above all I want to improve the user experience and just create a funner, scarier, more challenging experience.
